In a “zero tolerance” system, Anti-Cheat started detecting the use of multiple accounts and applies a 2-day cooldown for users to verify their main account, instantly banning all accounts repeatedly.
This change already has practical effects and the company itself states that it will continue to share details related to its fight against smurfs, intending to end once and for all to boost services and smurfs destroy games with multiple accounts.

Interview: The Impact of FACEIT 2.0 on Competitive Gaming
Time.news Editor: Welcome, everyone, to our exclusive interview segment. Today, we have the pleasure of speaking with Dr. Alex Thompson, a leading expert in competitive gaming and online platforms. Dr. Thompson, thank you for joining us.
Dr. Alex Thompson: Thank you for having me! It’s a pleasure to be here.
Editor: So, let’s dive right in. FACEIT 2.0 went live recently, and it’s already made quite an impact with over 40,000 accounts banned due to its new anti-cheat measures. What’s your initial reaction to this development?
Dr. Thompson: It’s quite significant! The aggressive stance that FACEIT has taken against cheating in gaming is crucial for maintaining the integrity of competitive play. Banning over 40,000 accounts in such a short period signals to players that they are serious about creating a fair environment. This can also serve as a deterrent to those who might consider cheating.
Editor: Indeed, it’s a bold move. You mentioned integrity—can you elaborate on how anti-cheat measures like those implemented in FACEIT 2.0 influence player behaviour?
Dr. Thompson: Absolutely. Strong anti-cheat systems not only catch offenders but also promote a culture of fairness within the community. When players know that there are effective measures in place, they’re less likely to engage in cheating themselves. This can lead to a more competitive and enjoyable environment for everyone involved.
Editor: FACEIT 2.0 also introduces improvements in the reporting system and website optimization. How do these enhancements contribute to a better user experience?
Dr. Thompson: Great question! A streamlined reporting system makes it easier for players to report suspicious behaviour, which helps maintain the platform’s integrity. Meanwhile, website optimization ensures that users can navigate the platform seamlessly, reducing frustration and enhancing engagement. Ultimately, these improvements lead to a more satisfying overall experience, encouraging players to invest more time in the game.
Editor: Speaking of player engagement, FACEIT has incorporated advanced statistics into their platform. How important are stats in competitive gaming?
Dr. Thompson: Advanced statistics play a crucial role in competitive gaming. Players analyse their performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and develop strategies. Moreover, stats can enhance community discussions, allowing players to compare performances and engage more deeply with the game. It fosters not just competition but also collaboration among players who are striving to improve.
Editor: With all these advancements in FACEIT 2.0, what do you foresee as the next steps for anti-cheat technology in the gaming industry?
Dr. Thompson: As technology evolves, so do the techniques used by cheaters. The industry will need to invest in more sophisticated machine learning algorithms that can predict and identify cheating behaviour in real time. Additionally, transparency in how these systems work is becoming essential, as communities want to understand the processes that manage fairness. We can also expect more collaboration between platforms to share knowledge and resources in the fight against cheating.
Editor: It sounds like an exciting time for competitive gaming. Dr. Thompson, thank you for sharing your insights with us today. Before we wrap up, do you have any final thoughts for our readers?
Dr. Thompson: Just to remind everyone that integrity in gaming is vital not only for competition but for the sustainability of the community. It’s inspiring to see platforms like FACEIT taking steps toward a better environment for players. Enjoy your games, play fair, and let’s continue to support efforts for a cheat-free atmosphere!
