Al-Najaf Football Team will play an important match this evening, Saturday, against its counterpart, Al-Minaa, for the (38) and final week of the Iraqi Premier League for the current season (2023-2024).
Al-Najaf team assistant coach, Haider Najm, told the (INA), “Today’s match is important for us. If we get the three points, we will occupy fourth place and thus obtain external participation.”
He added, “Our team does not suffer from any absences, and the Minaa team is a respectable team with a fan base. It is a youth team, in addition to a capable coach, and they have achieved distinguished results this season. However, we are determined to decide the match and obtain the three points, and therefore we are waiting for the outcome of the Zakho and Al-Talaba match.”
He explained that “this season was a tough and strong season, and the players did what they had to do after the great support from the chairman and members of the administrative body, especially after the task was taken over by Captain Abdul Ghani Shahad, as the team’s form and results changed after it was in the (16th or 17th) place, it reached the fourth place, and this is a positive point.”
