While sharing this, users are claiming that people threw shoes and slippers at SP President Akhilesh Yadav during his road show in Kannauj, UP. However, when BOOM investigated this claim, its team found it to be fake. BOOM’s investigation found that in the video, flower garlands and not shoes were being thrown at Akhilesh Yadav. This video is from last month, April 27, 2024. While investigating the viral video, BOOM’s team found a video related to Akhilesh Yadav’s road show in Kannauj, but there is no mention of shoes and slippers in that video. When Boom’s team checked this account, it was found that he is a supporter of a particular party. After taking several screenshots of the video and checking it, it is clearly visible that flowers and garlands are being thrown in the road show.
BOOM took its investigation forward and when we talked to Kannauj’s local reporter Pankaj Srivastava about this, he told that he was present there at that time. There was no incident of throwing shoes and slippers there, all the people were throwing flower garlands. Local MLA Rekha Verma was also present on that road. After that, when Boom team also talked to him about this, he also told that flowers and garlands were being thrown there. The matter of shoes and slippers is absolutely wrong.
