Fact‑Checking Policy

Last updated: August 16, 2025

Mission

Our mission is to deliver accurate, fair and contextual journalism. We verify facts before publication and correct them promptly when necessary.

Methodology

  • Source hierarchy: We prioritize primary documents, official records, peer‑reviewed research and on‑the‑record expert interviews.
  • Independent confirmation: For sensitive or breaking claims, we seek at least two independent confirmations.
  • Transparency: We link to underlying materials whenever possible so readers can check our work.
  • Updates: We timestamp significant updates and explain what changed.

Independence & Conflicts

Editors and reporters must disclose potential conflicts of interest and may be reassigned accordingly. Our newsroom operates separately from advertisers and sponsors.

Labeling

  • News vs. analysis vs. opinion: We label analysis and opinion pieces clearly so readers can distinguish them from straight news.
  • Wire & third‑party content: We credit the provider and note any edits we make.

Corrections

We strive to correct errors quickly. When we do, we add a timestamped note at the bottom of the article. See our Corrections Policy for details.

Reader Tips

If you find a mistake or have a news tip, email [email protected]. We review every credible report.

Standards We Look To

Our practices draw on internationally recognized journalism ethics guidelines and fact‑checking codes of conduct.
