It’s been more than three decades contributing to the evolution of poultry farming and promoting the activity for sustainable development

The Support Foundation for Poultry Science and Technology (FACTA) completes today, August 10, 34 years of operation. Created with the aim of spreading knowledge about poultry throughout Brazil, the foundation is a non-profit civil organization that remains faithful to its purposes.

Focusing on the promotion and transmission of knowledge and technologies applicable to the sustainable development of poultry farming, FACTA meets its objectives by holding technical updating events, improving operational and technical manpower through specific courses, disseminating poultry knowledge through publications specialized and stimulating the scientific and technological evolution of the activity by providing incentive prizes.

For the current director-president of the Foundation, Ariel Mendes, over the years FACTA has played a fundamental role for Brazilian poultry farming to reach this level of excellence, mainly through the dissemination of science and technology to the poultry industry in the country. “This diffusion was made through its annual conferences, numerous courses, symposiums, seminars, workshops held, through the publication of several poultry books and also through the publication of the scientific journal (BJPS/RBCA), which is among the four best journals poultry sciences in the world. So congratulations to FACTA on its 34th birthday. May we have a long life ahead of us, still playing this role in favor of Brazilian and world poultry farming!”.

“Since August 10, 1989, FACTA has defined itself and remains a center of concentration and, mainly, sharing of information and knowledge for the entire Brazilian poultry industry, thanks to the understanding and support of its maintainers. With a technical staff and board that keeps an eye on the future and based on scientific and practical knowledge, FACTA, in multiple actions carried out, continues to expand and disseminate knowledge for the poultry production sector in Brazil, being a reference for Latin America. Thank you to everyone who contributed and continues to contribute to FACTA so that we can continue for many years”, emphasized FACTA’s administrative and financial director, Silvio Hungaro.

For the Director of Courses and Publications, Ibiara Paz, the mission of disseminating, promoting and supporting technical-scientific knowledge in the poultry chain has been fulfilled for years, thanks to the commitment of everyone who has made precious time in their schedule to dedicate themselves to this mission. “FACTA is made by us, the technical staff, board of directors, sponsors, board of trustees, but it is also made by you who collaborate in publications, lectures, opinions and you who honor the events, purchase our books, question and opine. Congratulations to all of you”.

“Congratulations to FACTA for its 34 uninterrupted years of disseminating and creating knowledge for the national poultry industry. Through the Lamas Award, several generations of professionals who work in key positions in leading companies and research institutions in the area were presented. In conferences, courses and workshops, a lot of knowledge was made available and many contacts were made, creating a connected network of professionals working in the area. May these achievements continue to be repeated, in an ever renewed way, for many more years”, pointed out the executive director of FACTA, Anselmo Micheletti.

This year FACTA has already held the FACTA WPSA-Brasil 2023 Conference: “Brazil, the supermarket of the world!” In may; the workshop “Collection, Necropsy and Submission of Bird Samples for Laboratory Diagnosis”, in June and the “Symposium Bacterial & Viral Diseases”, in July

The next events are the VII Northeast Poultry and Pig Farming Fair & Symposium, from September 19th to 21st in Tacaimbó (PE) and Symposium on Diseases Coccidiosis Health & Intestinal Integrity, from October 17th to 19th, in Cascavel (PR).
