Mumbai: Team-mate Dinesh Karthik has revealed that he will be playing under captain Faf Duplessis in the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Faf du Plessis was recently announced as the RCB captain. RCB has acquired the South African veteran for Rs 7 crore in a mega star auction. Apart from Faf, Karthik’s name was also considered for the captaincy.
‘Faf is a player who uses his talent to the fullest. That’s the quality of being a captain. They can tell exactly what situation the competition is going through. I have played against him. Faf is a captain with tactical qualities. I felt like when he was the captain of South Africa, Faf was the captain who understood exactly what the game was all about. RCB needs such a captain, ”said Karthik.

Royal Challengers Bangalore are in Group B of the IPL. The RCB group includes Chennai Super Kings, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Punjab Kings and Gujarat Titans. Royal Challengers Bangalore’s IPL tour starts with the match against Punjab Kings on Sunday.
