ECONOMY.

The organization “FE POR LA LECHE” has expressed its respect and greetings to the authorities, while expressing its concern about the implementation of the Organic Law to Promote the Production, Marketing, Industrialization and Setting of the Price of Milk and its Derivatives ( LOFCL).

Livestock organization requests clarity on the application of the LOFCL Regulations.

After almost 19 months of waiting, the signing of the long-awaited Regulation by the President of the Republic, Daniel Noboa Azin, has been a crucial event for the livestock sector. This Regulation establishes a mechanism to set the Minimum Support Price, which, according to the Law, cannot be reduced or deducted under any circumstances. However, concerns are raised about possible additional deductions to the minimum support price. Although these deductions would be intended to encourage the quality of the milk, “FAITH FOR MILK” criticizes the lack of clarity in the legality and viability of these measures, arguing that the Law does not authorize deductions in this context. The organization states that any attempt to apply deductions would be considered illegal and arbitrary, requesting a legal review by the Legal Advisory Department of the Presidency of the Republic to evaluate the legality of the deductions proposed in the Regulation. Finally, “FE POR LA LECHE” requests a meeting with the relevant authorities to express its gratitude for the delivery of the bonus tables without deductions and reaffirm the commitment to the proper implementation of the Law.

This concern highlights the importance of transparency and clarity in the application of regulations that affect key sectors of the economy, such as livestock, in search of a balance between the development of the sector and respect for established regulations.
