FAITH RINGGOLD. BLACK IS BEAUTIFUL
A leading figure in American feminist art, after the struggles for civil rights, author of famous children’s books, Faith Ringgold develops a work that links the heritage of the Haarlem Renaissance with current Afro-descendant artists.
Through his rereadings of the history of modern art, he establishes a plastic and creative dialogue with the Parisian scene of the early 20th century, especially with Picasso and the Ladies of Avignon.
The exhibition brings together Ringgold’s major works for the first time in France, extending the retrospective at the New Museum last year.
