SURABAYA – Susanto, a fake doctor who applied to PT Pelindo Husada Citra was finally sentenced to 3.5 years in prison by the Panel of Judges at the Surabaya District Court (PN). This sentence was lighter than the demands of the Public Prosecutor (JPU) who demanded four years in prison.
The man who graduated from high school underwent trial in the Cakar Courtroom of the Surabaya District Court, Wednesday (4/10/2023). Before being arrested and brought to trial, Susanto applied to become a doctor at a clinic owned by PT Pelindo Husada Citra.
The verdict was read by the Chief Judge of the Surabaya District Court, Tongani. In reading the verdict, the judge said the defendant had been proven guilty and convincingly of violating Article 378 of the Criminal Code.
According to the panel of judges, Susanto was considered cooperative in the examination process and admitted his actions. This was a mitigating consideration for the panel of judges in handing down a criminal sentence against Susanto.
Head of Intelligence at the Tanjung Perak Surabaya District Prosecutor’s Office (Kejari), Jemmy Sandra, said that he was still thinking about the verdict handed down by the Surabaya District Court panel of judges. “We are still thinking about filing an appeal, considering that the convict has repeatedly acted as a fake doctor, and is considered to be detrimental to society and tarnishing the medical profession,” he said.
Susanto, who is a high school graduate, applied to become a doctor at PT Pelindo Husada Citra. He applied using the diploma data of a doctor named Anggi Yurikno, which he got from social media.
