Riyadh: Police have arrested a citizen for producing a fake Hajj permit.
The Riyadh Police Research and Investigation Unit said that he was selling fake permits for money to people who intended to perform the Hajj pilgrimage this year.
Police said the accused had proved his iqama (residence permit) was illegal and had been identified as a Yemeni citizen. The Directorate General of Passports (Javasat) has stated that foreigners will be punished by deportation from Saudi Arabia if they attempt to perform the Hajj without a permit and leave their fingerprints.
