Kuwait City: Four expatriates have been arrested in Kuwait for running a fake domestic worker’s office. The Africans were arrested by Interior Ministry officials in the Jalib al-Shuyoukh area. Defendants allegedly ran a fake domestic worker’s office and provided shelter for violators of residence laws and those fleeing sponsors. The arrested persons were handed over to the concerned departments for further legal action.

Extensive scrutiny continues for violators; Several expatriates arrested

Kuwait City: Extensive searches are being carried out in Kuwait to find the culprits. Several expatriates were arrested during a search by Home Ministry officials in Haveli yesterday, officials said.

Four people have been arrested for violating residence rules and three for not having identification documents during the search. Various governorates are conducting inspections to find expatriates violating the country’s labor and residency laws. All those arrested the previous day were handed over to the concerned sections for further action.

Meanwhile, an inspection in Jalib al-Shuyoukh found that a company had hired domestic workers in violation of the law. It was found to have provided shelter to domestic workers who had fled the sponsors and to those living in the country illegally. Four expatriate women were arrested by Home Ministry officials from here. All the detainees are from African countries. They were also handed over to the concerned departments for further action.
