False certificates and pony on the plate: European horse meat trafficking judged in Marseille

One of the largest horse dealers in Europe, two veterinarians, horse dealers, traders… 18 professionals in the meat industry appear from Tuesday and until June 23 before the 6th chamber of the Marseille criminal court for vast trafficking European Union of horses that are unfit for human consumption and which should never have ended up in the slaughterhouse. Originating from France, but also from Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands and Spain, draft horses, blood horses, sport horses, racing horses and even ponies have ended up in plates on the basis of false certificates.
