False Federal Revenue employee is arrested for applying scams

A joint action by the Civil Police arrested a false employee of the IRS accused of striking. The arrest took place on Wednesday the 12th, in the Flamengo neighborhood, in the south zone of the city of Rio de Janeiro.

Matheus de Freitas Domingues was arrested for aggravated theft, embezzlement against the elderly and criminal organization. According to investigations, he pretended to be an employee of the Federal Revenue Service to enter the victims’ homes and steal goods.

Neighbors of an elderly woman suspected the criminal’s behavior and called the police. According to police chief Felipe Santoro, the day before the coup, a woman who was also pretending to be an employee of the Federal Revenue Service called the victim’s home, informing her that there were problems with her income tax return and that she would send an employee the following day.

On the scheduled date, the bandit went to the victim’s house, collected documents and stole material goods, mainly jewelry and money.

Data from the Civil Police investigation show that Domingues is a member of a criminal organization that operates in the Flamengo neighborhood. Security agents launched an investigation to identify and locate the other members of the gang.
