A red alarm was sounded in the last minutes in the Gaza Strip in the localities of Nahal Oz, Sha’ar Hanegev. The IDF announces that this is a false warning.
The current incident comes against the backdrop of security tensions in Jerusalem, in the shadow of the clashes on the Temple Mount. Earlier today, Prime Minister Naftali Bennett cut a security situation in which the main points of the intelligence situation and operational activity in the various centers were presented. Bennett stressed that every effort should be made to allow members of all religions to celebrate and mark their religious holidays in Jerusalem, and that rioters who violate public order and try to disrupt the holiday routine should continue to be treated.
“The overarching mission is to provide security to Israeli citizens throughout the country,” Bennett said. “The security forces continue to receive a free hand from the political echelon for any action that will provide security to the citizens of Israel. We are working to calm the area on the one hand, and on the other hand to act decisively against violent elements. The security forces are prepared for any scenario.”
