Family Members March to Knesset Demanding Safe Return of Hostages Still Held in Gaza

Family members and relatives of the Israelis who remain hostages in Gaza took to the streets of Tel Aviv to march to Israel’s parliament, the Knesset. The Parliament marches, which were held on Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, were a passionate plea for the safe return of the hostages and the resumption of settlement talks with Hamas.

Nadav Rudeif, whose father was taken hostage on October 7, was among those who rallied in the march. He stated that they were prepared to pay a high price to bring back those held hostage for 67 days and called for the administration to take a bold decision.

Hamas, on the other hand, issued a warning as Israel continued its attacks on Gaza. Senior Hamas spokesman Osama Hamdan stated that Israel must end the war against Gaza if the hostages are to be returned alive. He made it clear that until the end of the war, there will be no more discussions about the release of the hostages.

According to Israeli government spokesman Eilon Levy, there are still 137 hostages in the hands of Hamas, 117 of which are male and 20 are female. Hamas released 110 of the 247 hostages taken during the ceasefire, including 86 Israelis and 24 foreign nationals. However, Hamas demands the release of more than 7,000 Palestinians, including women and children, who have been imprisoned by Israel for years in exchange for the release of the remaining hostages.

The rallies and marches in Tel Aviv reflect the desperation and anguish of the families as they continue to push for the safe return of their loved ones. The situation remains tense as both sides continue to exchange warnings and demands, while the hostages’ fate hangs in the balance.
