The Ministry of Foreign Affairsthrough the Consulate of Mexico in Barcelonareported that last September 2ndthe local police of Tossa de Mar, Catalonianotified the Mexican Consulate of death of a Mexican person in that town after an accident.
“The SRE regrets the death of the Mexican citizen and sends its condolences to the family,” reads a statement from the Mexican Foreign Ministry.
The Mexican Consulate in Barcelona immediately activated the protocol to assist the victim’s family. Diplomatic personnel established communication with the person who was traveling with the compatriot to provide the necessary assistance and support the arrangements for the transfer of the remains to Mexico, if the family requires it.

Meanwhile, the Foreign Ministry, through the Consulate of Mexico in Barcelona and the General Directorate of Consular Protection and Strategic Planningwill continue to provide consular assistance and protection to the victim’s family.
