A controversy has erupted in southern Cauca following the inauguration of a vehicular bridge and the delivery of yellow machinery over the Micay River, in the El Tambo area.

In an event attended by members of the FARC dissident groups, the 40-ton capacity bridge was put into service in the Honduras area of ​​the municipality of El Tambo.

Accompanying the community and its representatives, members of the armed group celebrated the completion of the work, which also included the delivery of equipment for local road maintenance.

According to W Radio, the construction of the bridge, valued at 650 million pesos, would have had a 15% contribution from the Carlos Patiño front of the Central General Staff. (EMC) of the FARC, although the authorities are investigating these alleged financing.

This event has provoked various reactions, as it is not the first time that dissident groups have participated in the inauguration of works in Colombia, acting as if they had legitimate and recognized authority.

The senator of the Democratic Center, María Fernanda Cabal, expressed on her social networks: «When Petro returns from his dalliances, will he be able to explain to Colombia why he allows FARC terrorists to inaugurate a bridge in Cauca and charge for its use?»

“Not content with Colombia being one of the countries with the most tolls in Latin America, above Brazil and Mexico, the Petro government now allows the bandits of the FARC to inaugurate a bridge for the community in El Tambo (Cauca): said former Minister of Justice Wilson Ruiz.
