Farense returns to winning ways and adds three important points in the fight for maintenance

Farense beat Boavista 2-0, in a game from the 28th round of the I Football League, played this Friday, April 5th, at the São Luís Stadium, in Faro. The Algarve return to winning ways, nine rounds later, and have added three important points in the fight for permanence.

José Mota’s team started the game very well and scored in the 12th minute, through Belloumi. However, alerted by VAR, the referee canceled the goal due to handball, by Bruno Duarte, at the beginning of the play.

A short time later… the same story. Pastor scored at 24′, but Talys, who provided the assist, was offside.

The two disallowed goals did not put down a Farense team that played very well in the first half. The goal would arrive in the 28th minute, with a header from Cláudio Falcão, after a corner.

The Algarve team didn’t take their foot off the accelerator and scored second before the break. Belloumi crossed to Bruno Duarte who, with his chest, put the ball into the back of the net (41′).

In the second half, Farense started better again, but, in the final minutes, they had to suffer. That’s when a great Ricardo Velho appeared (once again), with four defenders preventing Boavista’s goal.

With this victory, José Mota’s men have 30 points and are in 10th place.
