Sri Lanka’s dollar crisis has come to an end as the Executive Committee will receive approval for a 2.9 billion US dollar loan to be provided by the International Monetary Fund, said the Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, Nandalal Weerasinghe.
Nandalal Weerasinghe pointed out that Sri Lanka would still have sufficient foreign reserves to import essential goods to Sri Lanka.
He also expressed hope that by receiving a loan from the International Monetary Fund, investors’ confidence in Sri Lanka would increase and thus Sri Lanka would get new foreign funds and new approaches to investment opportunities.
