FARIA Renewables Acquires Two Wind Farms in Boeotia

FARIA Renewables acquired a 23.1-megawatt wind farm in Boeotia from EDP Renewables to expand its clean energy assets.

FARIA Renewables Buys Boeotia Wind Farm

The Greek renewable energy sector expanded when FARIA Renewables announced the acquisition of Kadmeios Anemos Energy Single-Member S.A. from EDP Renewables. The target company owns an operational wind farm in the Regional Unit of Boeotia with an installed capacity of 23.1 megawatts.

Testing for the project began in July 2026 after the facility completed its initial electrification. The technical setup relies on four Nordex N149 wind turbines designed to yield approximately 75 gigawatt-hours of electricity every year. Energy generated on site travels via a 14.1-kilometer underground medium-voltage cable network to connect directly with the Chounis Extra High Voltage Center.

Alpha Bank Finances Boeotia Asset Acquisition

To secure revenue stability over the long term, the buyer structured a 10-year Power Purchase Agreement for the Boeotia asset with METLEN, which also takes over market representation duties for the installation. That agreement underpins the predictable cash flow required to satisfy the lenders behind the transaction.

Alpha Bank provided the acquisition financing, while the legal advisory work fell to the Sardelas – Petsa Law Firm. Beyond the 23.1-megawatt site already generating power, the agreement between EDPR and FARIA Renewables covers a second wind installation. This second site in the same geographic territory boasts a 35-megawatt capacity, slated for electrification sometime in 2027.

FARIA Renewables Diversifies Energy Portfolio

The addition of the wind farms in our portfolio constitutes another essential milestone in the growth strategy of FARIA Renewables and confirms our commitment to systematically investing in projects with substantial energy and investment value. With this specific acquisition, we achieve even greater diversification of our energy portfolio, creating long-term value through coherent energy planning and actively contributing to shaping the energy system of tomorrow, centered on sustainability, flexibility, and resilience.

The operational facility features four Nordex turbines, secured long-term power sales with METLEN, and forms part of a two-park expansion financed by Alpha Bank.
