“I congratulate everyone on March 5 – the Day of Physical Culture and Sports.”
As reported by İdman.biz, Minister of Youth and Sports Farid Gaibov told reporters after the parade held in the sports capital of Guba.
The minister said that as a result of the decree signed by President Ilham Aliyev 19 years ago, March 5 is annually celebrated in Azerbaijan as the Day of Physical Culture and Sports:
“We try to hold most of the sporting events in Guba, the sports capital. For this reason, we celebrated our sports holiday here. I thank all the federations, regional sports departments, the executive power of the Guba region. The weather here is good now. I take this opportunity to invite everyone to play sports. Guests from abroad also arrived in Guba.
All events are aimed at developing sports. We believe that the number of young people participating in sports in the surrounding regions will increase. Because the state creates all kinds of conditions in this direction.”
