Faridabad : This time during the monsoon, though there was less rain in June and July as compared to last year, the rain in August broke the record of the last eight years. According to the Meteorological Department, there are chances of rain in September as well, due to which the figures are expected to increase. There was light rain during winters as well. On the other hand, there was not a single pre-monsoon rain in May. There was a good pre-monsoon rain at the end of June. Even after the monsoon became active, July was not special in terms of rain and till July there was less rain as compared to last year, but there was heavy rain in August. On most days in August, it rained in some or the other area of Faridabad.
According to the data of the Agriculture Department, 190.125 mm of rain was recorded in August this year. In the last eight years, there has not been so much rain during August. Earlier, more rain was recorded only during 2016. That year, 196 mm of rain fell in August.
Heavy rain in urban area
If we look at the data of rainfall in different areas, then more rainfall was recorded in the urban areas during August. Slightly less rainfall was recorded in the rural areas. The maximum rainfall was recorded in Faridabad area. 253 mm of rainfall was recorded here during August. 227 mm of rain was recorded in Badkhal area and 242 mm of rain was recorded in Ballabhgarh. Apart from this, 225 mm of rain was recorded in Dhauj area and 145 mm in Gaunchi area. If we talk about rural areas, the lowest rainfall of 120 mm was recorded in Mohana area during August. Whereas, 130 mm of rain was recorded in Dayalpur area and 181 mm of rain was recorded in Tigaon.
