The extent of the farmers’ week of action starting Monday will vary from region to region. Similar to climate activists, most state associations rely on a well-known means.

Berlin.

Ahead of the farmers’ association’s planned week of action, some cities are warning of greater restrictions on road traffic on Monday. And it’s not just farmers who want to protest. An overview of some of the announced actions:

Bayern

Some municipalities fear major consequences for the week of action, for example through blocking motorway entrances. The German Farmers’ Association is planning a rally in Munich on Monday, among other things. Other sectors also want to take part in the protests.

Berlin

The road between the Großer Stern and the Brandenburg Gate will be closed from Sunday to Monday evening. The reason is a registered demo with tractors on Monday. According to the police, a rally with around 300 participants was registered.

Brandenburg

Farmers in Brandenburg want to use tractors to block entrances to motorways and federal highways in many places. Central traffic axes such as the A24 from Berlin to Hamburg are also affected. According to the police, traffic disruptions are expected in more than 100 locations. According to the state farmers’ association, protests are also planned at supermarkets and gas stations as well as in front of the State Chancellery in Potsdam.

Hamburg

The Hamburg police are expecting significant traffic disruptions throughout the city on Monday due to tractor demonstrations. According to the registrants’ plans, 250 to 300 tractors will cross the state border from Schleswig-Holstein in the morning and drive to a final rally in downtown Hamburg, as the police announced.

Mecklenburg-Vorpommern

According to information from the state farmers’ association, there will be protests at more than 50 motorway entrances. The Unternehmeraufstand MV initiative has registered car parades in several cities, for example in Neubrandenburg, Rostock, Güstrow, Wismar and Schwerin.

Lower Saxony/Bremen

Lower Saxony farmers want to set off on a rally in Bremen on Monday. Up to 2,000 farmers with their tractors are expected in the city alone. A larger rally is also planned in Braunschweig.

North Rhine-Westphalia

In North Rhine-Westphalia, farmers want to paralyze traffic at intersections and driveways across the country on Monday. There are said to be larger gatherings in Cologne, Bonn, east of Dortmund and in Münster. Hundreds of tractors are expected here.

Rhineland-Palatinate

The country could become one of the focal points. The farmers’ and winegrowers’ association wants to hold demonstrations and rallies in all 14 districts on Monday. The association expects more than 10,000 participants.

Saxony

Actions such as car parades, a demonstration at the Elbe bridge in Torgau and protests at motorway entrances are planned for Monday. There will be a big rally in Dresden on Wednesday.

Schleswig-Holstein

There will be three days of demonstrations across the country. Slow-moving convoys are said to cause traffic disruptions. According to the state farmers’ association, blockades are not planned.

Thuringia

The Thuringian Farmers’ Association is expecting 900 tractors to make their way to Erfurt from all corners of the country on Monday. Meetings were also registered in other cities in Thuringia. (dpa)
