He left the preparation for civil services and started farming and became a millionaire farmer by growing pearls. After tasting failure for about four years, just 5 days of training changed the life of Gaurav Pachauri of Bharatpur, Rajasthan. His story has become an inspiration for many today.
Gaurav, belonging to a farmer family, was preparing for competitive exams while living in Delhi. The entire family was hopeful that the son would soon become an officer. But after one failure after another, a point came when he had to choose between family farming and continuing his studies. At that time Gaurav chose farming. But he did not want to do traditional farming, then he got information about Pearl Farming on TV and YouTube. He searched about it on YouTube and then he came to know that it can be learnt and training for it is given at CIFA. He decided to get training for it by going to CIFA located in Bhubaneswar, Odisha.
The 5 days training he got from CIFA gave him a new direction in life along with just a certificate, however, his family
It was a little difficult to convince but Gaurav convinced his family as well as the farmers of his village to invest in pearl farming. He invested about 21 lakhs along with some farmers and by working hard, he earned a profit of 80 lakhs in just 21 months and Gaurav proved that if you are determined, pearls can be grown even in the desert. Today, Gaurav has become a successful pearl farmer and has also trained about 1500 people in this.
