Farmers from Pernik and Radomir went on a protest march today. Shortly before noon, the farmers headed to the “Daskalovo” road junction, where for about two hours they slowly walked around the loaded facility with about 30 tractors. Traffic in the area was heavy and led to a traffic jam.

The farmers, most of whom are members of the United Farmers National Association, said that they continue to insist on the implementation of their twelve demands to the authorities. They concern the green deal, the period of payment of the subsidies for this year, specifically for the disadvantaged areas (mountainous and semi-mountainous) and the abolition of the ban on plowing, according to the climatic and geographical features of the region, etc.

The disaffected said that they do not want the resignation of the Minister of Agriculture Kiril Vatev, but if their demands are not met, they are ready to organize a large-scale protest in the capital or the closure of major road arteries in places during peak hours of the day, writes BTA.
