Sheikh Hasina Resigns, TV Producer Promises Political Satire

On August 5, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina‌ resigned ‍amidst public protests. An interim government was sworn in‌ the following ⁢night, with Nobel laureate Dr. Muhammad Yunus at ‍its helm.

Mustafa Saryar Faruqi, a talented producer, has been a vocal supporter of the ‌ongoing anti-discrimination movement. He has taken a temporary break⁤ from his online activism but promises to return with something “naughty” for the audience.

On Thursday ‍night, Faruqi wrote, “Today the new​ government‌ will⁢ take over. At one time I was thinking that there is no freedom from this fascism ‌in our lifetime. The youth of Bengal from all walks of ‍life⁢ have given us the ​desired freedom. A hiatus from my online‍ activism by saluting them all and congratulating Professor Yunus.”

Faruqi hinted at a new project related to political satire,⁣ stating, “Now it’s time to go back to my own work. During the previous interim government I made ‘420’. What strange whims of nature are coming again, something evil, that too during⁢ another interim ⁣government, which I am shooting during Fascism. By god you don’t vibe after it’s release I⁣ already knew that the interim government would come‍ at this time. How dare I make this?”‌

Faruqi is known for his satirical TV serial drama ‘420’, which explores political themes.⁣ He has previously acted in various roles, including Musharraf Karim, Nusrat Imroz Tisha, and Lutfar Rahman ⁤George.
