The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) sent a negative review to the government on the strategy for the communications industry until 2035 developed by the Ministry of Digital Development. The FAS was not satisfied with the proposal to allow telecom operators to index tariffs to a level “not less than the consumer price index”, and also to transfer part of the operators’ infrastructure maintenance costs to content providers – the largest Internet companies and online cinemas.
The fact that the FAS Russia in its review criticized the communications development strategy presented by the Ministry of Digital Development was told to Vedomosti by an interlocutor in one of the online cinemas and was confirmed by two sources in specialized associations. A government source also confirmed the receipt of a negative review from the FAS.
