The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) stated that there is no reason in Russia for an increase in tariffs for wired Internet and television services. Earlier, 78% of companies surveyed by the TelecomDaily agency said they were ready to raise tariffs.

“Currently, the FAS Russia sees no reason for an increase in tariffs for communication services using fixed technology (wired Internet connection, television), the service does not have information about the presence of prerequisites for such growth,” the FAS Telegram channel said. The department noted that the communications market is under constant monitoring, since it is socially significant.

Based on the data of the TelecomDaily study, the Internet, pay TV and fixed-line services in 2022 may rise in price by an average of 10%. Market participants cite the increase in equipment prices and inflation among the reasons. Also influenced by the latest legislative changes, in particular the “Yarovaya Law”, which obliges companies to store subscribers’ traffic and provide users with free access to socially significant sites.
