The whole thing became a single show of superlatives: A huge stadium, oversized screens, a show finale in which only black models floated down the catwalk, along with the appropriate song lines: “And when a child is born into this world / It has no concept / Of the tone the skin it’s living in.” Then the big bang: Cher is here!
