IDFC First Bank has launched a new initiative to recharge FASTag through WhatsApp. WhatsApp’s new feature ‘Pay on WhatsApp’ will enable bank customers to recharge FASTags. IDFC FIRST customers can recharge their FASTags through IDFC FIRST’s WhatsApp chatbot. Its specialty is that complete recharge can be done through chatting.

IDFC FIRST Bank customers can recharge Fasttag by sending ‘Hi’ to the bank’s official WhatsApp chatbot number +919555555555.

When you select the recharge option through WhatsApp chatting, you need to enter the amount you want to recharge and authorize the transaction through OTP, after which a message confirming the transaction will be sent to the mobile phone.

This new service will enable you to recharge through ‘Pay on WhatsApp’ without logging into any other mobile app or NetBanking portal, which will bring joy to the bank’s millions of FASTag users.

Paying on WhatsApp allows users to send and receive money from their contacts as easily as sending a WhatsApp message through the Unified Payment Interface (UPI). User has to enter unique UPI-PIN for each payment.

Through IDFC FIRST Bank’s WhatsApp banking channel, users can access more than 25 services for savings accounts, credit cards, loans, FASTag. The bank has now added FASTag purchase and recharge to its list of services.

IDFC First Bank has so far issued around 9 million FASTAKEs. IDFC FIRST Bank makes payments through FASTag at 420 toll plazas and 20 parking lots, accounting for 40 percent market share in monthly toll value processing.
