Fat Comedy is currently confronted with the consequences of his slap in the face against Oliver Pocher. This one had announcedto take legal action against Fat Comedy and to insist on a “maximum penalty”. In order to cope with the costs incurred, the 22-year-old had started an appeal for donations. This has now been taken offline again.
Fat Comedy takes fundraiser offline
Fat Comedy wanted to collect donations via a specially set up GoFundMe campaign. The goal was 500,000 euros. The whole thing ran under the title “You have to be able to take responsibility for your actions”.
In the description, Fat Comedy explained his situation. Oliver Pocher had filed a criminal complaint against him, he didn’t think it was wrong. Due to the court costs and the possible payment of compensation for pain and suffering, he sees himself with high costs confrontt and therefore ask for support.
A total of almost 3,000 euros and a lot of criticism came around. Apparently so much criticism that Fat Comedy took the campaign offline again. He explains himself on Instagram: He created the donation page because he was under “media pressure” and didn’t want to rely on anyone. He plans to donate the money he has raised so far.
However, this could prove to be more difficult than might have been assumed. After all, one applies to donations in most cases earmarking. If the recipient spends the money on something other than what is stated in the call for donations, in most cases the donor can request their donation back.
Oliver Pocher himself explained in his Instagram story that the “GoFundMe rules” prohibit the collection of donations to defend suspected crimes. The comedian suggests the fundraiser “was halted” for this reason. Fat Comedy denies this in his story, saying he took the site offline because he realized his mistake.
