BOLZANO. The Bolzano court granted house arrest to the 28-year-old Dutchman who, last Tuesday, had caused a fatal accident on the A22 near Laimburg.
The young man, driving a van, had made a U-turn to avoid a column of cars, cutting off two oncoming motorcycles. In the crash, Francesco Severino, 35 years old from Merano, died instantly, while the other motorcyclist was seriously injured. The Dutchman, who is now under house arrest in an accommodation in South Tyrol, is being investigated for aggravated road murder.
