Thiruvananthapuram – A scooter rider died after being hit by a tipper lorry speeding through the traffic signal. The deceased was A.S.Sudhir, a native of Malayinkeesh. The accident happened at Panavila Junction at around 3 pm yesterday. The police got the footage of the accident from the CCTV camera of a nearby shop. Sudhir was going to Thampanoor from Palayam side.

When the signal passed, the back of the tipper overtook the scooter and the scooter overturned and the rear wheel of the tipper rolled over Sudhir’s body. Sudheer, who was seriously injured, was immediately rushed to the Medical College Hospital in an ambulance, but died. Following the accident, the traffic on the Panavila-Thambanoor road was blocked for half an hour. The fire force arrived from Chengalchula station and cleared the road after removing the scooter.
