At least one woman died and 11 were injured last Saturday, July 20, in a collision between a private vehicle and a public transport unit, in the Paso de los Caballos section, on the road to Naiguatá, La Guaira state.

According to a report by journalist Lysaura Fuentes on her X account, the victim was identified as Samantha Rey Pacheco, who was the co-pilot in a Toyota Corolla.
Security forces came to the site to treat the injuries, and then transferred them to the outpatient clinic of Naiguatá and to the Dr. José María Vargas Hospital in La Guaira.
Sources indicated that there are so far two versions of how the accident happened. The first is that it is alleged that the driver of the vehicle suddenly crossed into the channel where the bus was spreading, so the driver tried to maneuver, but the accident occurred.
The second is that the public transport driver was apparently trying to overtake another car and collided with the Corolla.
