Tragedy struck in Des Moines on Saturday evening, as one person was killed and another left in critical condition after a devastating crash. The incident occurred when two vehicles collided after one entered the road from a parking lot on SE 14th Street and Watrous Avenue just before 7:30 p.m.
Both drivers were rushed to local hospitals, but unfortunately, one driver did not survive their injuries. The second driver remains hospitalized in serious condition. At this time, the names of the individuals involved have not been released by the police.
