A tragic incident unfolded in the South Bronx on Saturday afternoon as a 23-year-old man, Robert Jimenez, was intentionally struck and killed by a female driver while riding a scooter near Fox Street and Intervale Avenue. Law enforcement sources have confirmed that the 28-year-old woman was driving a red Honda Civic at the time of the incident.

According to police reports, the collision occurred around 2:22 p.m. with the scooter traveling in the same direction as the Honda Civic. The impact resulted in severe damage to the front of the vehicle and left the scooter in ruins at the scene.

Despite being rushed to Lincoln Hospital, Jimenez was tragically declared deceased due to the severity of his injuries. The female driver, who sustained pelvic injuries, was also taken to the same hospital and is currently under custody.

The motive behind the intentional act remains unclear, and detectives are awaiting the driver’s treatment before questioning her. Charges against her are pending as of Saturday night.
