One Dead, Six Injured in Tragic Long Beach Accident
LONG BEACH, Calif. (KABC) — A devastating accident in Long Beach claimed the life of one person and left six others injured on Saturday night. The incident occurred when a driver struck pedestrians in a crosswalk as well as multiple vehicles near the intersection of Shoreline Drive and Aquarium Way.
According to a spokesperson for the Long Beach Fire Department, the crash took place shortly after 6:30 p.m. The intersection, which is located near popular attractions such as the Pike Outlets and the Aquarium of the Pacific, was suddenly turned into a scene of chaos and tragedy.
Tragically, a woman lost her life at the crash site, as confirmed by the Long Beach Police Department. The identity of the deceased has not been released at this time, pending notification of her next of kin.
In addition to the fatal injury, four individuals were transported to nearby hospitals with major injuries. The spokesperson for the Fire Department revealed that one person sustained minor injuries, while another injured person chose not to be taken to a medical center.
