According to Chief Bercaw, the initial altercation was between the two groups involved in the fight, but it quickly escalated, putting innocent bystanders at risk. “And in this fight between two groups, we had hundreds of innocent people involved that were in the way,” said Bercaw.

Videos posted online captured moments of the chaotic scene, showing people dressed in Halloween costumes enjoying the festivities before shots were fired. The sudden gunfire caused panic among the crowd, leading to a stampede. Some individuals took cover behind metal tables while others toppled them over for protection. Footage after the incident revealed police officers providing medical aid to numerous individuals lying wounded on the ground.

Fortunately, none of the officers on the scene were injured during the shooting. However, the toll on civilian lives was tragic, with two people losing their lives and 18 others being rushed to hospitals with various injuries. The conditions of the injured individuals were not immediately disclosed.

Amid the chaos, one suspect, identified only as a male, turned himself in to the police. Authorities, however, believe that a second shooter may have been involved. The motive behind the fight leading up to the shooting remains unclear and is currently under investigation.
