jpnn.comJAKARTA – Musician Bimbim Slank’s father, Sidharta M Soemarno died on Monday (4/3) evening.
Bimbim’s father breathed his last breath at the age of 88, and was buried at Karet Bivak TPU, Central Jakarta.
When met after the funeral, Bimbim revealed that his family had paid the fidiah in lieu of fasting that his father had missed during Ramadan last year.
“I’ve paid fidiah. I just found out (I have to pay fidiah),” said Bimbim to the media crew.
When asked about the number of fasts left by his late father, Bimbim admitted that he did not know for sure.
However, the drummer issued a fidiah worth 245 liters of rice for his father.
“Basically, there are 245 liters of rice. Then, in prayer there are 245 times of prayer, 245 times of fasting, something like that,” said Bimbim.
Bimbim revealed that the decision to pay fidiah was based on family considerations.
Bimbim Slank paid a fidiah of 245 liters of rice as compensation for his father’s fasting during Ramadhan last year.
