Lamine Yamal’s father was reportedly stabbed in a parking lot, but his life is not in danger.
Great shock for Lamine Yamal! As reported by the Catalan daily La Vanguardia, Mounir Nasraoui, the father of the 17-year-old Barca star, was stabbed on Wednesday evening following an argument with three suspects.
The alleged perpetrators fled on foot. Witnesses of the incident then called the police. Three individuals have already been arrested, as reported by the local police to the news agency AFP. Furthermore, investigators are still searching for a fourth suspect.
Yamal’s father was taken to the emergency room of a hospital in nearby Badalona. His condition was initially described as “concerning” due to two stab wounds to his abdomen. However, his life is not in danger.
It is expected that he will be transferred to a regular ward on Thursday. He will be accompanied by his brother, who is in constant phone contact with Lamine Yamal.
Parking Lot Altercation Escalates?
Videos circulating online allegedly show the father in an altercation with three individuals in the street, which was calmed down by the intervention of police forces. It is speculated that this was the trigger for the attack. Whether the video is genuine and whether it indeed features Nasraoui is currently unknown.
The father of the European champion, as well as Yamal’s grandmother, live in Rocafonda, a neighborhood of Mataro, where the 17-year-old also grew up. The young talent celebrates his goals by showing a “304” with his hands, which is the postal code of the neighborhood.
