Father’s struggle, financial constraints and the desire to do something in his mind inspired Anil Basak, a resident of Kishanganj, Bihar, to become an officer and the son of father Vinod Basak, who sold clothes from village to village, passed the UPSC exam. Not only passed, but also secured 45th rank.

Anil had seen many problems from a very young age. Sometimes there was nothing to eat at home, and sometimes it would be difficult to reach the school. But Anil was not going to stop. Fighting all the difficulties, Anil worked hard and after passing 12th, started preparing for JEE. Soon his hard work paid off and he got admission in IIT Delhi.

upsc exam without coaching pass

While studying civil engineering in Delhi, he joined coaching to prepare for UPSC. The first time Anil took the UPSC exam, he failed. However, he cleared the exam in the second attempt with a rank of 616.

But he was not happy with it, so he decided to continue with his preparation. Now the problem was that a lot of money had already been spent on studies, so it was difficult to pay the expensive coaching fees. Then he left coaching after 2018 and started preparing on his own and prepared in such a way that in the third attempt, he not only passed the exam but went straight from 616th rank to 45th rank and fulfilled his dream of becoming an IAS officer.

Indeed, looking at people like Anil Basak, it seems that circumstances can never be stronger than effort. One should just keep working hard and have full faith in oneself.
