They met at the adviser’s office in the secretariat on Sunday (September 29) at noon.

At this time, the adviser said that the circulation of jute should be increased throughout the country. The government has taken the initiative to introduce jute bags in supershops of the country from next month.

He said, this ministry is working towards that goal. I want to make this program successful with everyone in the country. This will increase domestic consumption of jute in the country. The implementation of jute wrapping law should have started earlier. By now suitable alternatives to polythene and plastic would have been available. The use of versatile jute products should be increased to bring back the past heritage of jute.

In the meeting, the representatives of Bangladesh Agro-Processors Association requested to ensure the supply of jute bags in packaging as per the demand.

In response, the advisor said, we will look into your demands. It will be ensured that the implementation of jute wrapping law does not interfere with the marketing of the product and the export of the country.

Additional Secretary of Textile and Jute Ministry ANM Moinul Islam, President of Bangladesh Agro-Processors Association MA Hashem, Secretary Md. Iqtadul Haque, PRAN-RFL Group Chairman Ahsan Khan Chowdhury and other concerned persons were present.
