Born in the city of Ifrane, where she joined the city’s Ski Club, Fatima Ezzahra comes from a family that places great emphasis on sports, a godsend for this athlete who has been treading the snowy slopes of the sumptuous mountains around her hometown since the age of 3, thanks to her father who introduced her to alpine skiing, “a family passion”, she confided to MAP.
The professional sports career of this dynamic young woman speaks volumes about her tenacity and passion, with 18 years of practice under her belt during which she has walked the slopes and sometimes even climbed steep peaks to live her passion during her intensive training. A lifestyle that is not very easy, not physically and mentally for this high-level athlete, but in view of her desire to continue her studies at the same time.
In competition, the athlete has won several titles in all age groups and categories, including the Moroccan championship in 2009, a title that is very dear to him because it is synonymous with recognition of his talent and hard work.
For her, skiing is above all a sport of personal surpassing, because it is one of the sports of challenge and perseverance which has allowed her to shape her personality and define ambitious objectives both on a personal and professional level.
Even far from the slopes and trails, this extreme sports enthusiast has remained in the wake of her favorite sport, because following the recommendations of the members of the FRMSSM, in recognition of her talent, she was led to train future competitive athletes, an immense honor according to her.
After this enriching experience, Fatima Ezzahra currently works on the organizing committee for winter sports and electronic timing competitions within the FRMSSM, a way for her to keep the flame of her passion for skiing alive.
Her message for Moroccan women on this March 8: always look towards the summits.
