Edgeboston: English all-rounder Moeen Ali says England are favorites against India in the upcoming fifth Test (ENG vs IND 5th Test) at Edgbaston. Had the series been completed last year, India would have won 3-1. But England are strong in the way they play now. India lack training in England. Moin Ali added that the English team are the favorites given the number of matches England have played in the last few matches.

The last match of the five – Test series last year was rescheduled for July 1 in Edgbaston following the Kovid scare at the Indian camp. Team India is currently leading the series 2-1. Before the final match, captain Rohit Sharma’s Kovid is a concern for India. Meanwhile, Ben Stokes and his team will whitewash world Test champions New Zealand in a three-Test series against India.

Moin Ali for the return

Moin Ali is preparing to return to England Test cricket. Moin Ali, 34, had recently informed coach Brendon McCullum that he could be considered for the England squad for the upcoming tour of Pakistan and that his retirement from Test cricket was officially being withdrawn. James Anderson and Stuart Broad, who left the team when Joe Root was captain, returned to the team with Ben Stokes as captain.

Moin Ali announced his retirement from Test cricket in September last year. Ali has taken 194 wickets in 64 Tests for England. He took five wickets in five innings and scored 2916 runs, including five centuries in Tests. The highest score was 155 runs. His best bowling performance was taking six wickets for 53 runs. Moin Ali made his Test debut in 2014 against Sri Lanka at Lord’s.
