Mysteries in the Sky: Hundreds of Unidentified Drones Plague New Jersey, Leaving Authorities Puzzled.
An unsettling mystery has gripped New Jersey as citizens and officials grapple with countless sightings of unidentified drones. For weeks, dozens of these uncrewed aerial vehicles have been seen soaring through the night skies, even over sensitive military airspace. “As soon as they appear, they vanish into the darkness,” Governor Phil Murphy told NBC News, highlighting the gravity of the situation.
Videos capturing these enigmatic, bright lights have quickly taken flight across social media, igniting fervent discussions and fueling a frenzy of speculation. Theories range from clandestine espionage operations and covert military drills to the unthinkable – extraterrestrial activity.
Witnesses and law enforcement officials describe these drones as significantly larger than typical hobbyist models, with some even spotted near the golf course of former President Donald Trump’s residence in Bedminster.
Spokeswoman for the U.S. Department of Defense Sabrina Singh emphatically stated in Washington that these are not American military drones. According to her, the Pentagon currently lacks any evidence indicating foreign involvement or a hostile intent behind these flights. Local law enforcement agencies are actively investigating, ensuring that no U.S. military installations are under threat.
Calls for a State of Emergency
The FBI has joined the probe, but without any definitive conclusions. “We are investigating, but I haven’t received an answer yet about who is responsible, or if individuals or groups are behind these drone flights,” FBI representative Robert Wheeler disclosed during a Congressional hearing. Wheeler revealed that the FBI has received over 3,000 reported sightings.
Senator Jon Bramnick, a Republican, has urged swift action, demanding that New Jersey declare a temporary state of emergency and implement a complete ban on all drone operations until the public receives a clear explanation for these repeated sightings.
Many mayors from the affected areas are also demanding answers from the New Jersey government. Governor Murphy, however, maintains that there is currently no known public safety threat, reassuring the public that he is working closely with federal and security agencies. He has also spoken with U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas in this regard.
