The Canadian was diagnosed with the disease shortly after the start of training, when he had just started again after his corona infection.
The Munich sports cardiologist Florian Straube believes that a longer break is necessary in such cases: “If myocarditis is temporally related to an acute corona infection, the professional societies and sports associations recommend that you should take a break of at least three months. Each case must always be considered individually.”
Neuer trains alone
Captain Manuel Neuer (35) did not train with the team on Tuesday, instead he did a goalkeeping session with coach Toni Tapalovic (41). Josip Stanisic (21) and Gabriel Vidovic (18) did an individual build-up session with the team after the warm-up.
