FCN Player Niklas Sommer Attacked After Controversial Bayern Shirt Incident

by time news

In a story video, Sommer showed bumps and bruises on his head that had been inflicted by the attackers. He wrote: “I’m fine. Thank you for all the messages.”

The 26-year-old, who is also active as an influencer (1 million followers on Instagram), had previously drawn the wrath of the fans by appearing in a shirt of the arch-rival FC Bayern.

During the home game of Nürnberg against 1. FC Magdeburg, several banners were displayed in the host’s fan curve criticizing Sommer with harsh words. Among other things, it said: “Club pride instead of hipster posing. Niklas Wilson, you are shit, like FC Bayern.” On a second banner, it read: “Wilson, get lost, you Bayern pig.”

As reported by FCN, Sommer was ambushed in front of his own door on the same evening, and “a few hours later,” a “physical attack” occurred. The police have already launched an investigation.

Sommer, who is mostly called “Willy,” has been playing for the club’s second team in the Bayern Regionalliga since this summer. In his stories and posts, he often poses in jerseys of other clubs. For example, he has worn the kit of Champions League winner Real Madrid or Manchester City.
