A happy end to the six month wait. The baby clung to her mother’s breast. Mother’s tears of joy on the baby’s forehead. CWC Chairperson Shaniba Begum handed over the baby brought from the Child Welfare Committee to the parents. Her parents left her at one and a half month old. After six months, when the two of them came back, there was no strangeness in those little eyes. She looked at both of them alternately and smiled.
The child was handed over to the Child Welfare Committee saying that he is a smart child who does not talk, cry or fight. The child welfare committee officials explained to the parents about the baby’s diet and the vaccinations to be followed.
The fact that she got pregnant before marriage, hid it for fear of dishonor and gave birth after marriage without anyone knowing, had made the families of both of them wear down the other day. The shock and worry at the first hearing is gone and the two families are waiting for the couple to return with the baby.
