Fécamp: a six-year-old child falls twenty meters from a cliff

A terrible drama played out in Saint-Léonard, near Fécamp, this Thursday. According to information from Paris Normandie, a six-year-old child fell at the level of the valley of Grainval, on part of the cliff. According to the firefighters of the region, contacted by 76 Actu, the child would have fallen about twenty meters.

Also according to regional media, the emergency services were notified of the accident around 2:30 p.m. and five machines and a Dragon 76 type helicopter were mobilized to intervene on the scene. Thirteen firefighters including a water rescue unit were also on site. According to Le Courrier Cauchois, the rescue of the child required two hours of intervention.

The child in a state of absolute emergency

Supported by the Smur and transported by helicopter to the Rouen University Hospital around 4:30 p.m., the child is in a state of absolute emergency. According to Paris Normandie, the child would have escaped the supervision of his parents and would have crossed a low wall after having climbed a few steps of the staircase of the valley of Grainval. After having crossed the low wall, the child would have slipped “from a grassy ground”.
