The federal government decides to extend the operation that investigates attacks or threats to schools in Brazil. According to the Ministry of Justice, so far, more than 300 adults and adolescents have been arrested or apprehended. And more than 1,700 cases that are being investigated.

Flávio Dino confirmed the opening of an action that may ultimately result in the suspension of Telegram in Brazil. The decision was taken because the network did not respect the deadline for platforms to express their views on mechanisms for identifying and moderating illegal content.
The administrative process was opened by the National Consumer Secretariat, which noted that only Telegram did not respond to the government’s requests. The Ministry of Justice also announced the creation of a secretariat dedicated to issues related to digital rights.
The body will be led by Estela Aranha, who is now in charge of regulating social networks. Her priority will be to suggest updates to laws that allow, for example, evidence produced on social networks to be considered by Justice.
